COMMON QUESTIONS

You Ask — We Answer

WHAT IS A DOULA?

A doula is someone who assist pregnant women through labor and birth. As well as providing postpartum support.

SO YOUR A MIDWIFE, RIGHT?

No. A doula is not medically trained, therefore cannot perform medical duties such as "catching your baby," prescribe or administer exams. Our job is to provide informational, physical, spiritual and emotional support.

I WANT A SCHEDULE CESAREAN SECTION, DO I STILL NEED A DOULA?

As a doula, our role is to provide nonjudgemental support. Regardless of your choice of birth, we will support you as we would any other birth. It may be a little different than a natural birth, but we believe every person has a right to informational, physical and emotional support.

DO YOU REPLACE MY PARTNER IN THE LABOR ROOM?

No, our job is to provide support to both of you through this time. (If there is no partner present, then yes we would play that role).

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

We believe everyone regardless of economic status has a right to be supported, informed and advocated for. Therefore, we work on a sliding scale starting at $250, but not exceeding $750. For more information feel free to send us a message here.

HOW MANY CLIENTS DO YOU TAKE AT A TIME?

It really depends, case by case. Some months we have more than other times, but you can rest assured that while we are with you, our full attention is with YOU.
